Childhood is a time of hope and promise. But in India, for nearly one third of our children, the burden of poverty falls heavily quashing all such aspirations. The Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare believes that every child has the right to a healthy and happy childhood… the right to go to school and the right to learn the skills essential for a fulfilling, productive life irrespective of his or ere family constraints. That is why our priority remains providing children the opportunity to attend school and acquire the basic skills to prepare them for a secure adulthood.

You and I plan and save for our own children… we leave no stone unturned to provide the best of opportunities to enable them to pursue their dreams. But sadly, millions of Indian parents can’t dare to dream. The shackles of poverty and illiteracy enslave them and their children to lives we cannot fathom… lives of acute deprivation and struggle; a struggle which these innocent children are born into… and must endure for no fault of their own.

The Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare’s (KSCCW) reaches out to such disadvantaged children… to bring a ray of hope into their lives.
